I, The Mapmaker are excited to share their brand new single ‘Capsized’ taken from their explosive debut EP ‘Searching’, which will be self-released on all digital platforms May 18th.

‘Searching’ was recorded and produced by Lewis Johns (Rolo Tomassi, Employed To Serve, Palm Reader, Muncie Girls) at The Ranch Production House in Southampton. ‘Searching’ is a stirring amalgamation of frenetic hardcore, luscious ambience, and heartfelt deliverance that oozes integrity; Every song containing riffs big enough to crack a snow-capped mountain piste, married with a forlorn, hopeful yet sentimental melody that will envelop you like the preceding avalanche.

The Bournemouth/Southampton based quintet are driven by alluring imagination and heartfelt stories, striving to connect listeners with honest and passionate performances of emotionally charged melodic hardcore. Founded by drummer Jonny Browning, guitarist/vocalist Josh Graham, and vocalist Ashley Emery; Twin brother Perry Emery completed the line-up on bass/vocals, flanked by Nathan Kimber on guitar/vocals.

‘It was the spirit and candour of the band that encouraged me to become part of something that is truly special to me and everyone else in the band. I feel these attributes are what makes us as a band and form the foundation of our music. There is a sensibility that resonated with me as I hope it does with our listeners; an intimacy that evokes a sense of belonging and that we want everyone to feel a part of. – Nathan Kimber

The band have since shared stages with Hundredth, Stray From the Path, Deez Nuts, Casey and Napoleon among others. Be sure to catch ITMM live at this year’s Teddy Rocks Festival and more.
