Tinley Park, IL’s Real Friends has released new song and video for ‘Mess’. The song is taken from the band’s new album ‘The Home Inside My Head’, set for release on May 27th.
Showcasing the energy fans experience at a Real Friends show, the ‘Mess’ video is a collection of footage shot throughout the band’s sold-out $5 Tour. With ticket prices going up and local music venues closing down, the tour offered a ticket price of only $5 and hit unconventional venues across the country such as VFW halls, batting cages, wrestling rings, and more, in the spirit of supporting the local music scene.
Bassist Kyle Fasel explains, “‘Mess’ is a song about self examination. It’s about finding the light even in the darkest of rooms. The lyrical content has many moments of looking back and knowing that things get better. I find myself to be a person that thinks back more than most, and as I get older, I find myself looking back in a more positive way.”
The band have a busy tour season ahead with dates in the UK on the Slam Dunk Festival, followed by a Main Stage slot on the Main Stage of the Vans Warped Tour 2016, where both MTV and Buzzfeed noted REAL FRIENDS as an artist to watch on the tour this summer. Full tour routing listed below.
