HACKTIVIST STREAM DEBUT ALBUM ‘OUTSIDE THE BOX’ AHEAD OF RELEASE

The wait is finally over, as trailblazing five-piece Hacktivist stream their long-awaited debut album ‘Outside The Box’ ahead of its official release via UNFD on 04 March.

Hacktivist have been fighting their way from Milton Keynes to the mainstage since 2011 and now it’s time for the world to listen up. Outside The Box is a 12 track barrage of low-tuned riffs, street-smartrhymes with huge hooks and grooves, resulting in a powerful record with a sound that is 100% their own. Guest performances are present from Rou Reynolds of Enter Shikari, Jamie Graham of Heart Of A Coward, Astroid Boys and cyber rhymer Jot Maxi; a highly diverse collection of artists onlyHacktivist could bring together.

The band comment: “It’s so f***ing exciting that we’re finally able to reveal what we’ve been working on for so long – Outside The Box is our debut album and we couldn’t be prouder of it. It’s the sound of five mates against the world (plus a few other of our insanely talented friends) and believe me when I say this is only the beginning.”

The quintet are currently out on tour playing intimate club shows in the UK before they head to Europe to coincide with the release of Outside The Box.

Like antibodies that fight disease, Outside The Box is an immediate and fierce response to the worldHacktivist inhabit. It’s a conscious call to arms and the product of a unique bunch of mates that could only ever have been conceived in the neglected corners of one of the UK’s most misunderstood towns in 2016 by one of the most exciting bands around. It’s no understatement to say Outside The Box has been a long time coming – it comprises over five years’ worth of ideas that have been bubbling while the band crossed milestone after milestone, fuelled by the success of their incendiary self-titled 2013 EP.

On the back of the DIY release, Hacktivist garnered strong support from all sides of the media – Kerrang!, Rock Sound, Metal Hammer and BBC Radio 1 all amplified the message, and word soon spread to the likes of The Guardian, XFM and legendary hip-hop publication Insomniac – and  spent every spare second on the road.

Mainstage appearances at Reading, Leeds and Sonisphere festivals soon followed in the UK, as well as Rock Am Ring & Rock Im Park in Germany, and the miles racked up around Europe (including as special guests to Korn in 2014) mean that the support accorded to the H grows wherever necessary. In March, for example, they’ll play to almost a thousand in Budapest. This is a movement that respects no borders.
